Name: Alla Davidson
Age: 32
I was born and raised in Moldova’s capital city Kishinev (Chisinau is the Romanian spelling). My first language is Russian. I moved to the U.S. in May of 2001 and now enjoy living with my family in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
As an artist:
Drawing has always been my passion.  I am completely self taught, never took an art lesson. Throughout my childhood and teenage years I was learning mostly by observation, paying a lot of attention to details.  All of my drawings in the book "Embrace" are done with pencil or ink.
For lack of resources I never really tried working with paint until I moved to the U.S.    Today I paint almost anything from abstract paintings to flower pots and mailboxes in the One Stroke decorative style.  Please take a look at the “Gallery” section of my web site.
As a poet:
I began to compose poems when I was about 5 years old, even before I could read and write. My mother, a poet herself, explained to me the basics of poetry writing and it became a lifetime hobby for me.
I began to write poetry in English in the summer of 2004.  My book of poems and drawings "Embrace" was published in 2005. I am currently trying to publish several children's books that I wrote and illustrated in the past few years.

Alla Davidson’s original poems and drawings create a fascinating passage into the world of human visions, affections and paradoxes. Written in the best traditions of Russian poetry, yet with their own unique rhythm and melody, the verses overflow with a distinctive sensibility that will leave you spellbound. Abstract, fantasy-like drawings accompany every poem, creating a deeper impression of all that is said.
Davidson’s viewpoint is unparallel in the western world, influenced by a mindset and perspective of distant culture. Embrace emotionally moves the reader as it reveals the complexity of the human experience.
