Biography:
I was born and raised in Moldova’s capital city Kishinev (Chisinau is the Romanian spelling) I began to compose poems when I was about 5 years old, even before I could read and write. My mother, a poet herself, explained to me the basics of poetry writing and it became a lifetime hobby for me. Drawing has always been my passion. I must say that I was pretty stubborn in my self teaching, slowly perfecting my skill and learning mostly by observation, paying a lot of attention to details. All of my drawings are done with pencil or ink.
For lack of resources I never really tried working with color until I moved to the U.S. Now it’s a whole new area for me. Today I paint almost anything from abstract paintings to flower pots and mailboxes in the One Stroke decorative style. Please take a look at the “Gallery” section of my website.
I moved to the U.S. in May of 2001 and got married here that June. I began to write poetry in English in the summer of 2004. Currently I am working on a children’s book of poems, a book of Raccoon photographs and my regular poetry as well.
I am still happily married and very much enjoy living in the Pacific Northwest.
